Selanions is an educational toy for 6- to 8-year-olds designed to combat the emotional turmoil of moments of failure. Selanions are a set of reactive, emotional building characters that explore the self-conscious emotions through the blocks’ sensory responses of the user’s actions and failures.

For my senior thesis, I explored the relationship children have with failure.  Following my own design process, Selanions encapsulates my value of play, users, and impact.  Through this journey, I experienced my own forms of failure avoidance and took those experiences as learning moments to develop as a designer
